Police Brigadier Georgios Papaprodromou was born in 1965 in Giannitsa, Pella, Greece.
He joined Hellenic Police on 1984.
He graduated from Law Faculty with a BSc from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1991).
He graduated from Hellenic Police Officer΄s Academy in Athens (1993).
He was appointed in the Forensic Division for a couple of years (1999-2001), being trained as a Forensic Document Examiner (FDE) in the Forensic Division. He has been certified in Forensic Document Examination (2002), establishing the Questioned Document Examination (QDE) Laboratory in the Forensic Sub-division of Northern Greece.
He is also a graduate of Hellenic Supreme Joint War College (2015) and of Hellenic National Defence College (2017).
He has served in many Departments in Security Directorate and General Police Directorate of Thessaloniki, Police Division of Pella, Police Division of Rodopi, in the Forensic Subdivision of Northern Greece and in the Forensic Division, Hellenic Police HQ. He was appointed as a Director in the recent established Cyber Crime Subdivision of Northern Greece (2015).
From 2016 till now, he is the Director of the Hellenic Cyber Crime Division, Hellenic Police HQ.
In this leading role, he is responsible for supervising and coordinating a large amount of law enforcement cyber-crime cases including cybercrime fraud area, child sexual exploitation CSE, money laundering, hacking/cracking issues. In 2018 he got a promotion to Police Brigadier maintaining in his position.
He is a member of European Cybercrime Task Force (EUCTF), participating in many conferences and lectures of Europol and as a speaker in well-known global conferences such as 5 th Conference EUROPOL-INTEROL in Cybercrime, ICANN, RAN, ΕΕ-ΙSAC, European Union Agency for Network and Information Security (ENISA), INFOCOM, SECURITY PROJECT, UINFC2, EXPOSEC, ETWINNING.
He has been training, among others, in Organization and Management and in new Technologies of Information Technology and Communications (ITC), regarding e-Government, Radicalization, Civil Protection, European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Training (CEPOL), European Union Agency for Network and Information Security (ENISA) and Organization Against Drugs (ΟΚΑΝΑ) issues.
He is lecturing in Schools of Police Academy (National Security School, Continuing Education School Police Constable School), Hellenic Army Academy, Hellenic Air Force Academy, Hellenic Supreme Joint War College ADISPO, Hellenic National Defence College and Hellenic Fire Academy and Public Institutes of Vocational Training.
Georgios Papaprodromou is married with two (2) children, students in Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and University of Macedonia.
He speaks Greek, English and German.
